Under 11s compete in European tournament

JTC Jersey Wanderers are returning to Carentan in Normandy to participate in the second Under 11’s Tournament of the P’tits Irréductibles this weekend -14th and 15th May 2016.

In 2015, the Under 11’s came fourth out of twenty four teams and this year will be hoping to go one better and reach the final. Additionally the Club will be the only Under 11’s Jersey representative playing against teams from all over France and other European countries.

Shaun A’Court, former Muratti centre-back and manager of JTC Jersey Wanderers Under 11’s, commented:

“Jersey has some wonderful young talented football players so the opportunity to take a squad of players off Island to participate in international tournaments will only help and assist the boys in their future football development – and of course enjoy competitively playing against some European teams.

“The players in our squad are all under 11 years of age so the experience from this tournament will be invaluable for future grass roots football development in Jersey. Everyone is really looking forward to the weekend ahead and making new friends which we hope will forge further links for junior football in the Island.”
