A win for JTC JWFC Minis Academy!

JTC JWFC Mini Academy

There were cheers all round earlier this month when lads from the Minis Academy (Reception / Year 1) played their very first game at Springfield Stadium against their good friends from St Lawrence FC.

And only after a few weeks training and learning the ropes, the boys not only enjoyed a deserved 4-1 win but also learnt a great deal from the experience about the benefits of working together as a team – passing to each other, finding space and then defending.

Commenting on the game, Clive Richardson, who heads Wanderers Minis Academy, said: “I would like to thank John Leonard for (bravely!) taking our youngest team for their first ever game after only a few coaching sessions. John and fellow coach Karl Fitzpatrick are two of my team of nine coaches who readily give their time each weekend to provide our minis players ( from reception up to and including school year 5) with the opportunity to enjoy and develop their football in a safe and supportive environment. Well done John and well played lads!”
