As part of the restructuring of our Club, we now have a vacancy for a Secretary. This key role within the Club’s structure is an opportunity for you to get closer to the heart of what makes the club work and to help and influence the future development of JTC Jersey Wanderers.

Many of the previously ‘traditional roles’ of Secretary have been transferred to other new positions, leaving the Secretary to be the main contact point and hub for external communications. Taking 2-3 hours per week, the role also involves coordinating and attending Board meetings and ensuring the club operates and meets the requirements of the Jersey Football Association. Emails and other correspondence needs to be managed on a daily basis.

The role is voluntary with an immediate start. There will be a period of handover and assistance available on an ongoing basis.

The main duties are:

Communications gatekeeper role

The main part of the role is being the primary Interface between the Club and the JFA on matters that affect the club. This is largely receiving incoming email and answering or distributing to Club Officials, Managers etc. as appropriate for answering. This is a daily function. The Head of Football deals with most of the football related e-mails received.

Meetings

Arranging Board meetings, sort agendas and take minutes at the meetings. Attend internal Club meetings as required.

Data Management

Log into JFA Whole Game System Portal (WGS) and work with the Charter Standard Coordinator to update as and when required. This system shows the club dashboard and information about the club. It lists Officials, Managers, Players, Suspensions etc. and is simple to use.

Affiliation

Annual affiliation of club and teams to JFA. This is a once a year job in June/July and requires details of teams and mangers etc. to be input into the WGS portal.
